Balance
I watched the news last night.....oh boy. It was an exhausting experience.
Stupidity reigns and there's no end in sight. (Notice I said "stupidity" and not "ignorance." There's a difference.)
Educated fools are in charge of my country.
But it's almost fall -- the days & nights are beginning to morph into the most glorious time of year!
And I have the privilege of residing here at Toad Hall, a/k/a Paradise.
And "THE KID's" #1 son is 2 today. Happy Birthday, Little A!
So perhaps this is whut it means to have "balance" in one's life, huh?

Do as I did--use the newspapers (with all the bad news) to burn the television (more bad news--and reality TV). Dance a wild dance around the fire and then go in and relax. I see the distinction you make between ignorance and stupidity, but in truth, we have ignorant stupid people running the country.
I hate the news.....it's so depressing.
The kiddo is too cute for his own good!
It's been the plus of not having TV service all summer.
Aw, how cute he is. They all are. Years away from having you smirk knowingly at The Kid.

I know where you're coming from. A lot of things were handled improperly, and there's a long road ahead for New Orleans. Now, I'm not trying to be hippocritical about the Domino-Bush meeting. I posted that because it was about Fats - and I often post breaking news about the Fat Man. I did think it was a very generous thing for Bush to replace Fats medal - and I'm sure Fats did too. But as great as that was, the re-building of New Orleans is even more important. And I most definately want to think that Bush will keep the promises he made on August 29th. I will be greatly disappointed if those promises aren't kept.
If you read my past few posts, about Katrina and the Spike Lee documentary, you know I feel about the whole thing. I'm just trying to be mature about it, and respective to all - democrat and republican - who visit my site. I am a democrat, but not a liberal democrat. Even if I don't agree w. the government, I still try to be mature as possible about political matters, simply becuase I don't want to make enemies out of friends.

"The most glorious time of year" -- I definitely agree.
Well I think the "men folk" can't resist the all you can eat aspect of the fish fry. What the heck are frickled pickles?
Hooray for kids!
Hey. What's with all the TV bashing?
What would I do without TV?
