Month: February 2010

  • Land of the Greed

Just finished reading this    l o n g    article about how banks have come up with all kinds of new way to screw us on our credit cards.

This, after the new “Credit Act” — or whutever it’s called — that was designed to HELP folks tread water.

Way to go, bank-card companies!  That’s the spirit in times of economic stress for the little guy!  After all, you “financiers” only made a 12 BILLION dollar profit last year……

(I blame this disgusting development on these kings of avarice watching too much Reality TV, by the way. That must be where they learned the old “ME FIRST and stab everyone else in the back” credo.)

P.S.  Didn’t I read somewhere awhile back about banks being “bailed out?”  Huh.

On a more cheerful note — the snow is beginning to melt a bit.  Guess I better go clean up the kitchen before someone drops in.

    I’d rather eat SPAM.

  • Thoughts on Winter at Toad Hall

    Huh.

Snow shovel is in the garage because I forgot to get it out on a warmer day.

And now — garage doors are frozen shut.

    Hence — can’t shovel driveway.

Hence — can’t get out of the driveway ’til I have it plowed.

But — can’t pay the guy to plow it until I get to the bank.

    Guess I’ll stay home.

Oh yeah — and my feet are cold.

  • An Auspicious Occasion!

Former Staff Sgt. Clyde, after almost 6 years, is a civilian!

    Whoo HOO!

    Home again!

    Hair again!

    Jiggety, jig!

  • Lost & Found

Lost:  A dear friend of many years to cancer.  I miss her terribly.

Lost:  Angel Dog.  There is yet another empty place here at Toad Hall…

And just as an aside, I’m totally wrung out from losing those I love so dearly.  And that hollow feeling that lives in my chest…

Lost:  A gi-normous amount of “found” money received in the mail.  It had to be returned.  Ah, well.  It’s only money.

Lost:  Motivation & interest.  With any luck, this is temporary.

Lost:  “IamLuke’s” gloves.  But I found them in the back seat of my car.

    Lost:  The month of January.

Found:  The month of February.  And a new appreciation for listening to the “Blues.”
